College counsellors come in all shapes and sizes. Their primary duty is to help guide students through an important period in their lives. Some counselors focus on admissions, career advice, financial aid, athletics, extracurricular activities, and other concerns. There are institutions looking out for part-time college counselors, making this a fantastic side business idea, or you can even start your own practice and charge anywhere from $25-$100+ per hour for your consultative services if you're well-versed on the subject.
People from all over the world need help to meet their goals. Maybe they want to get healthier through a plant-based diet, or perhaps they want to learn how to surf or play the guitar, or they may need to buy parts to build racing drones, manage their time better, gain muscle, or lose weight. If you’ve got the skill and know-how to assist these folks and you can provide viable solutions to their needs and wants, then you have to go for it!
Starting your own business is a good thing but getting it to run and become profitable can difficult and challenging. I have a mobile app in both Googlestore and Itunes, and am struggling to get downloads as I have not done enough marketing. Its a services marketplace app which will actually be competing with big and established names. I do not know how to market and promote the app, would need professional help and appreciate any advice.
Something else I recommend is taking the free 7-lesson mini-course on general transcription offered by Janet Shaughnessy of Transcribe Anywhere. This will help you to understand if you're a good fit for a transcription career, what you can potentially earn, and also where to get started. Janet also has free legal transcription mini-course if you're more interested in going that route.
Do you love woodworking? Even without a huge workshop, you can create some of the more popular crafts and sell them.  And like most things, your success in business isn’t necessarily related to how skilled you are as a woodworker. So if you can figure out which products consumers want and just create those, you could have a good business plan.  Etsy.com and farmers’ markets are a great place to start selling.
Matt Landau is not your typical 29-year-old. In 2005, after graduating from the University of Richmond, Landau, the New Jersey native packed his bags and moved to Panama City, Panama. While working on developing his travel and investing site, The Panama Report, Landau developed a friendship with the owners of Los Cuatro Tulipanes, a boutique hotel in downtown Casco Viejo, Panama. And when the owners of the hotel expressed interest in selling, Landau jumped at the opportunity to buy. The hotel now has eight full-time employees, while The Panama Report has four. Landau, a serial entrepreneur at heart, also runs Boost Occupancy, a hotel consulting service. "I do have an office [at the hotel,] but I tend to be much more productive in the privacy and quiet of my own home which overlooks the Pacific," Landau says. "With the cost of labor low in Panama, things like live-in maids, messengers, and cooks makes working at home like working in a very well-appointed executive compound."

There have always been con men, scammers and scoundrels in business and the internet has brought them out in legions. However, there have always been honest people in business too who build business empires that survive world wars and are passed down from one generation to another. The reason legitimate business endure is because they are built on integrity and proven business principles.

Sharing our amazing wine products and earning money for my son’s activities outside of school, family vacations, and even covering unexpected bills in the household is also a HUGE bonus! I am grateful for Rick Libby and his cheerleaders for the support Traveling Vineyard provides to help run my business.” – Amanda White, One-Star Leader

You will have to pass certain checks to ensure you can do this legally, but once you do, you could turn being a mum into a profitable business. You invite other working mums to leave their kids with you during the day, as you watch over them. You can also pick up older children from school and look after them until parents finish work. This is a great way to leverage an activity that you will already be doing anyway.

Some of the most successful affiliate marketing websites include platforms such as “This is why I’m Broke” which makes about $50,000 worth of commission every single month.
Melissa Dowler and her husband Tom run Long Haul Films, a production company that makes documentaries and bespoke films for weddings, events and corporate clients. The couple's workload is split between shoot days when they're on location and editing and administration days when they're handling post-production or working on marketing. So why stay at home? "Every saved penny counts and we made the decision to create a great at-home working environment so we weren't spending our money on office or co-working space," Melissa Dowler says. "We're lucky to live in a spacious loft that is ideal for what we do." Dowler explains that the loft is a former photographer's studio so there's plenty of space and light to conduct shoots right on site when needed. "Many people warned us that we'd struggle as a husband and wife team working from home, but we each feel we have our own space and we love that we're able to collaborate closely on projects and also take breaks together for lunch or the gym," she says.

Many of the same concepts that apply to making gift baskets or arranging flowers also apply here, but this time you’ll be putting people’s names on the things you send them. Personalization is especially hot for any sort of kids’ item, so don’t be afraid to be creative with the products you offer to personalize. Good photography, a good Website and some crafty skills will come in handy here.
Likes, shares, and social media engagement have become ways for companies to expand into the online business world and gain followers who later on can be converted into customers. As a basic example, say you come across a post for a business in your local area. Initially, you might give it a like and then later remember, hey, I’ve been meaning to check this place out. Or maybe you give a company page a like and then later make a purchase from them.
While writing a book might not be everyone’s cup of tea, there are guides and lots of advice online that can help you get started. In fact, you don’t even have to write the book yourself. You can simply hire a ghostwriter to do it for you! It is actually not the writing itself that is the problem (although you have to provide people with something that they would enjoy reading and gain from in general) but in the promotion of the book. It is the marketing aspect of it that often gets most self-publishers out of the money.

This is a job with much potential, in part because the title description covers many things. “You can fit your offerings to what you know how to do,” says Stephanie Foster, a former medical transcriptionist who runs the website HomeWithTheKids.com. One can own a virtual assistant business or work from home for a company that makes you available to other employers or clients. HomeWithTheKids.com, for example, currently features several such companies.
Furthermore you could use a course platform to create and teach online courses on any topic you choose — this is becoming super popular and is something we ourselves do (we have an online course we teach on social media marketing). Either way — most people typically need a platform to accomplish either of these and a blog is typically the easiest way to accomplish that (although that in and of itself can take months to years to really gain traction). We have a blog setup tutorial if you’re interested (just let me know and I’ll get you some good resources).
Freelance writers can more easily be thought of as a “writer for hire” or someone who is contracted out to write about a particular topic. If you have some writing chops, but don’t want to deal with all the extra work that goes into running a blog, you can hire yourself out and write for newspapers, large online publications and even other bloggers.
Imagine your best friend questioning you about your stay-at-home job. Could you answer all her likely questions, like how long the company has been in business, what training and support the company offers, fees and costs associated with doing the job, and what exactly the company does? Have you checked out the company’s ranking on the Better Business Bureau (BBB)? When selling your wares online, is Etsy, eBay, or another site better for your goods, and what are their fees per post? Searching online is the fastest and easiest way to find these answers. Just be sure to review multiple reputable resources.
This is one of those businesses you probably wouldn’t get into without previous experience. On the other hand, you can get an idea of skills needed online from the television personality and dog whisperer, Cesar Milan. There are also many dog training tutorials on YouTube. A stint at a local pet store might help too, and you’ll at least make minimum wage while you get your education and experience.

•The website has no contact information. A legitimate business has a way for you to reach them. Look for an "About" page that offers information on the company or CEO, along with a phone number, address, or contact email. (Try calling the number to see if anyone answers.) A website with only a contact form and no other way to get in touch with an actual human is suspicious.
